ByteSnap launches Feasibility Study service at Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2020

ByteSnap Design will be exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2020 show, ten years after the electronics design consultancy first participated in the event.

A lot has changed in the last decade, as the multi-award-winning company will demonstrate on stand E30. Alongside displaying their smart communications charge point controller RAY, ByteSnap Design will launch the second of its new design solutions – the Feasibility Study Service, joining the company’s Design Rescue offering which was launched in October 2019.

ByteSnap Design’s new service will help both customers who come with defined requirements for their project, and those with product ideas at a more embryonic stage.

The Feasibility Study combines an innovative, brainstorming exercise with rational analysis to understand the product design, under the umbrella of customer expectation, budget and project deadlines.

Feasibility Study boosts project success

The service has been launched in response to the increasing number of clients approaching ByteSnap Design to improve the likelihood of successful delivery of electronics and software product designs, such as:

  • A 360o camera for low light environments
  • A handheld multimedia tour guide
  • A portable medical monitoring device

As part of the new solution, ByteSnap Design’s expert team performs a set of pre-design activities critical to defining product specification:

  1. Establish features and functionality
  2. Understand technical specifications
  3. Compare technologies and platforms
  4. Recognise technology challenges and risks and introduce backup alternatives
  5. Identify standards, certifications and statutory approvals, such as type testing
  6. Analyse NRE (non-recurring engineering) cost and manufacturing cost
  7. Confirm development costs and milestones

Dunstan Power, Director of ByteSnap Design, says: “Conducting a thorough up-front feasibility study can turn a good concept into a brilliant product, while also supporting project managers who need to justify a specific technology route or component. We recommend contacting us about conducting a feasibility study early in a project.

“The new offer complements our Design Rescue solution, where our expert engineers turn around failing electronics projects.”

Also on the stand, ByteSnap Design will be highlighting their Vehicle-to-Grid and electric charge point solutions and a 1.8m-tall traffic sign running on the company’s flexible OpenGL framework, SnapUI.

The traffic sign demo drives a bank of 160×64 LEDs, while the integration of SnapUI, a user interface development tool that can be used for prototyping and production, will demonstrate its ease of use on challenging output devices.

One of the UK’s leading electronics manufacturing and design trade shows, Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2019 runs at Farnborough, Hampshire on until tomorrow. It’s not too late to register for the trade show: https://www.industrysouth.co.uk/register/
