ByteSnap Design shortlisted as Consultancy of the Year at the British Engineering Excellence Awards 2011
UK electronics design company celebrates nomination for the BEEAs’ Consultancy of the Year award, which recognises those making an impact on the world of quality engineering and design
ByteSnap Design Ltd is celebrating after being shortlisted as the UK’s Consultancy of the Year at the third British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEAs).
The BEEAs are open to companies with an engineering design function and aim to demonstrate and promote the quality of UK engineering design while providing a benchmark of excellence for the industry. Birmingham-based electronics design and embedded systems consultancy ByteSnap Design was named a finalist thanks to its ability to work on all project stages from conception through to prototype design and testing.
One of only a few companies providing both hardware and software design services, ByteSnap Designs offers in-depth experience and understanding of electronic and software engineering that covers the whole embedded system stack, from low-level hardware to applications.
Dunstan Power, Director of ByteSnap Design and one of the company founders, said: “Being shortlisted as Consultancy of the Year is a great honour and winning this award would serve to showcase our growth and success over the past year. With around 60 per cent of our business coming from repeat contracts, referrals and customer and hardware supplier recommendations, ByteSnap Design has enjoyed a successful 12 months including the launch of the industry’s first ever ZigBee® Smart Energy compliant module.”
The embedded systems consultancy is no stranger to awards, having won an ICT Excellence Award in 2010 for SnapUI. The lightweight, high performance windows embedded application framework was also certified by AccreditUK and achieved Microsoft Silver Partner status, making ByteSnap Design one of only two UK design partners to be awarded this standing.
BEEAs’ Julie Knox said: “The judging standards are rigorous and the winners will be businesses which have recognised that creativity and design innovation are the critical elements of continually improving and reinvigorating themselves to stay ahead of the competition. This is an opportunity for engineering design companies to raise their profile among the UK’s design engineering community and set themselves apart from competitors.”
