MARKING 1 MILLION SECONDS TO CHRISTMAS FOR CHARITY

With the countdown to the big day continuing – we decided to mark 1 million seconds to Christmas with a festive coffee morning for charity.

Earlier today, at 10:13:20 (exactly one million seconds to Christmas), ByteSnap staff gathered together for “Mince Pies and Munchies” to raise money for our Christmas charity this year – the Buddy Bag Foundation.

The Buddy Bag Foundation was set up by Karen Williams in response to the increasing number of children fleeing violent situations at home and ending up in emergency accommodation.  The charity prepares essentials back packs for children entering emergency care after a traumatic incident.  The purpose of the Buddy Bags is to address children’s immediate comfort and well-being, and to help restore a sense of safety and security in their lives.

The Buddy Bag

A Buddy Bag is a backpack tailored for the needs babies, children and young people 16 and under.  The essential contents include pyjamas, toiletries, underwear and socks.  A book, photo frame and teddy bear are also included.

We feel the Buddy Bag Foundation is doing a fantastic job helping youngsters in crisis and wanted to support them this Christmas. We’ve not yet counted the money we raised today – but it’ll be making its way to the Foundation very soon!
